This piece was inspired by the sky. I laid in my yard in the prairies and saw faces looking down at me, like a council of gods. They were so grand and majestic I cried. To see faces in the landscape around you is both grounding and humbling. I believe the first gods were the sky, the waters, and the land – with the ability to create and end life. How could I think otherwise?
First Gods II [Right] – 24″H x 36″W
This piece takes the shape of a braided river or stream. The way it reaches it fingers of water, explores the land the same way a person would to their lovers body. It’s intimate, godly, loving and grand.
