When the pandemic reached Calgary I had just begun a new subject, painting the buildings downtown. I was watching the light hit the windows of skyscrapers and create a variety of wonderful colours on cement walls. The grey surfaces come alive when the sun hits their surface, and I began to appreciate their beauty. Suddenly we were in lockdown and people appeared in windows, looking out. We wait, we work, we dance only with our computer, and we zoom together, hoping it is over soon.
