A short hike from Moraine Lake in Banff lies Consolation Lake, at the foot of Mt. Bident. The shore is full of very large rocks such as the one in this painting. We had a picnic lunch and watched a mother grizzly with two frisky cubs walking on the shore on the other side of the wide and shallow lake outlet.
