This triptych is the first in a new body of work that explores the transportive nature of music. ‘Red Tangerine Blues’ expresses the shape-shifting qualities of the Blues music I listened to while painting. From the classic Delta and Chicago to the Modern Rock, Blues music transports through different cultures. These circular portals represent thresholds through which to engage in different human experiences and an opportunity to express emotion.
