Artist Bio
Growing up in a family who valued music and the arts, Becky Holuk naturally learned to express herself by drawing, painting and creating ‘stuff’.
After a year of Fine Arts at the University of Regina, Becky completed a four-year Visual Communications diploma at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary. Ten years were happily spent working as a graphic designer and illustrator, at which point she decided to pursue fine art full-time.
Becky enjoys being part of the connection which visual art provides between artist and viewer, and considers this opportunity a gift and a blessing. She is inspired by the natural, majestic beauty of the Alberta Foothills, Canadian Rockies and the West Coast. Hikes and walks are her favourite times to observe, record and reflect for later artistic pursuits in the studio. Each painting is her interpretation of a joyful response in colour and motion to a particular scene or memory she has experienced.
